Description
The Sumo collection is an ode to the human body. Referring to the Japanese sport of sumo, all vases are characterized by emphasized volume and rounded shapes, supported by narrow, pointed legs that create a contrast between massiveness and lightness. Each vase has a different opening – from classic narrow openings, to double, to deeply carved and sculpturally shaped openings.
The collection explores the contrast between the recognizable shapes of vases and the inserted artistic, abstract ideas and details, questioning our individual perception of what a vase can or should be. Although each vase is conceived as a stand-alone art object, together they form a visually connected and harmonious whole.
Since this is a hand-glazed natural product, slight variations in color are possible. Although the vases are not completely waterproof, a fresh flower bag is included with each vase.
