In Japanese, sunao means honesty. It is a word that carries much more than mere truthfulness; it embodies the spirit of living with clarity, humility, and respect for the natural world. The Sunao, Medio vase reflects this philosophy with its smooth ceramic form and serene presence.
The inspiration stems from the dialogue between nature and craft. Designed to support rather than overpower its contents, the vase features a calm and uninterrupted surface, finished in a shade of Chocolate Brown – a deep and soothing color inspired by the earth and cocoa beans.
Each piece is hand-painted, bearing subtle variations that make it unique, reflecting the Japanese belief that beauty is found in distinctiveness and unobtrusive details. Just as no two leaves, branches, or waves are exactly alike, each Sunao vase carries its own subtle character.
