KAMI VASE BIG
Design
Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl
Description
The Kami vase is inspired by the shape of paper bags, emphasizing the aesthetics of their sharp folds and crumpled surfaces. The name Kami , the Japanese word for paper, pays homage to the Japanese tradition of working with paper as an artistic material.
The surface of the vase is irregular and dynamic, with folds and cracks that create the shape of a crumpled paper bag with clear, sharp edges. The result is an organic, sculptural design with a distinctly handmade character. The vase is made of ceramic, hand-glazed to achieve a unique matte texture. The interior is coated with a waterproof varnish, making Kami completely waterproof and perfect for fresh flowers.
