Description
Eero Saarinen vowed to address the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" he observed underneath chairs and tables—the so-called "slum of legs." A five-year design investigation led him to the revolutionary Pedestal Collection, introduced in 1958.
FEATURES
Eero Saarinen's pedestal collection includes dining, coffee, and side tables. The Knoll logo is located on the underside of the base. A nameplate with the KnollStudio logo and the signature of Eero Saarinen is also located on the underside of the top or on the top support plate.
Material
Top: Bevel-edged satin laminate, lacquer, acrylic stone, marble, or veneer. Marble is coated with transparent polyester to prevent stains. Acrylic Stone is made of aluminum hydroxide, acrylic resin, and pigments for strength, cleanliness, water resistance, and color stability.
Base: Saarinen design, heavy molded cast aluminum, with Rilsan protection on black and white bases.
FINISHES
Tables in white laminate, coated marble (various colors), veneer, or acrylic stone (for outdoor use). Base finish in black or white. Height may vary by 1 cm based on the top material.
