Description
The Sumo collection celebrates the human body. Inspired by the Japanese sport of sumo, each vase is characterized by a voluminous shape and a strong presence, supported by narrow, pointed legs that create an impression of lightness despite the massiveness of the form. The vases differ in their openings – from classic narrow openings, to double, to deeply carved and abstract designs.
Sumo explores the contrast between traditional vase forms and artistic, abstract elements, encouraging the viewer to question their own perception of what a vase is or can be. While each vase functions as a stand-alone art object, together they form a coherent and harmonious collection.
The vases are hand-glazed and made from natural materials, which is why minor color variations are possible. Since they are not completely waterproof, a fresh flower bag is included with each vase.
