Description
The Sumo collection celebrates the human body. Inspired by the Japanese sport of sumo, all vases feature voluminous forms resting on narrow, pointed legs. Each vase has a different opening – from classic narrow, to double, to deeply carved openings. The collection explores the contrast between the recognizable shapes of vases and the addition of artistic, abstract elements, questioning our perception of what a vase “should” look like.
Sumo is designed as a stand-alone art object, but also as part of a harmonious whole when several pieces are placed together. Since it is a hand-glazed natural product, minor differences in color are possible. The vases are not completely waterproof, but a bag for fresh flowers is included.
