Description
The Weaving collection is inspired by the ancient Chinese technique of bamboo weaving, but interpreted through a completely contemporary ceramic language. Designers Neri&Hu translate the feeling of handcraft into an architectural surface that feels almost textile-like, as if the wall or floor has been woven, not just tiled. The unique feature of the collection is the interplay of full and empty spaces: the rhythm of geometry creates depth, shadows, and three-dimensionality that changes depending on the light and viewing angle.
The colors are inspired by the natural aging process of bamboo — from light, almost raw tones to warmer and darker shades. Each element is made using separate molds and extracted by hand, which gives the tiles slight irregularities that further emphasize their tactility and artistic character. The collection comes in three geometric patterns, San Jiao, Si Fang, and Ba Leng, which allow for the creation of various visual rhythms, from subtle textures to strong graphic compositions.
