Description
The JOV Zoumey Rug is a unique designer rug that blends architectural geometry, premium materials, and exceptional tactility. It was conceived by Belgian designer Arno Declercq, inspired by the sculptural form of his own Four Leg Stool. The characteristic pattern of irregularly arranged geometric blocks transforms the surface of the rug into a kind of textile artwork that gives the space a strong visual identity.
The distinctive quality of the Zoumey model lies in the combination of merino wool and mohair, whose fine fibers create an exceptionally soft surface with a natural sheen. Varied pile heights accentuate the geometric pattern and create a pronounced play of light, shadow, and texture. The result is a rug that acts not only as a functional interior element but also as an independent design object.
The inspiration for the name comes from the Zoumey forest in Benin, associated with iroko wood, which holds a special spiritual significance in the culture of the Fon people. This story further emphasizes the connection between design, nature, materials, and tradition.
Thanks to its expressive yet refined character, Zoumey fits perfectly into contemporary, minimalist, and eclectic interiors. It is an ideal choice for living rooms, representative spaces, and interiors that value original design, superior craftsmanship, and timeless aesthetics.
