Description

Studio Mary Lennox took inspiration for the collection’s name from the collaborative nature of fungi and the way they are interconnected by an intelligent communication network (mycorrhizal network) that, through symbiosis with other species in their environment, enables cooperation between different living organisms in an ecosystem. This complex and extensive organic communication system is often referred to as the “mycelial superhighway” or the “forest wide web.”

The name of the collection is M-SHWY (pronounced MS Highway), which is an acronym for Mycorrhizal Super Highway (or more simply — mushroom superhighway). Mary Lennox Studio wanted to show a bird's eye view of the oyster mushroom. This rug is made of CHLOE quality — soft New Zealand wool combined with shiny Tencel Lyocell fibers that give the rugs a subtle sheen.

To add extra depth and texture to the rug, JOV has used a color gradient from the center to the edges, combined with 3D height effects on the edge sections, which gives the rug an extra softness and impressive look. The details in the color gradient and the 3D structure on the edges make this rug unique and highlight our hand-tufting skills.
